Happy Easter/Ressurection Sunday! If you are anything like me, the days are all running together and this significant day snuck up on you too. It definitely doesn’t resemble the Easter Sundays we are accused to. No need for pretty dresses or suits because there will be no in-person church services, family gatherings or egg hunts. This year’s Easter festivities are all about being together alone while acknowledging the resurrection of Christ.
So much has changed in such a short amount of time. It seems like yesterday we were enjoying the simple luxuries of life, shopping, going to the gym and nights out with friends. However thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are forced to comply with shelter in place orders, curfews and urged to practice social distancing in an effort to flatten the curve.
The uncertainty of the times we are living paired with the rising death toll is frightening. While living through this nightmare, I have found myself depressed, and overwhelmed with anxiety. I am sure some of you can relate to me feeling as if I am seated in the sunken place.
I know all too well how easy it is to allow depression and anxiety to consume you and reduce you to merely existing when you should be living. However, today choose to tap into the energy of what Ressurection Sunday is all about because we need to understand that we can rise with power.
This crisis has forever changed us but I have hope in the headlock because in order to rise with power I must remain encouraged. Yes, I know it is hard but speaking life during this time is vital for both yourself and everyone you come in contact with. It may not change our current reality but it will shine light in the midst of darkness.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Listen sis, now is the perfect time to activate your faith and strengthen your foundation. Lean on the understanding that every moment of this crisis is an opportunity to become more powerful and wiser. Your goal should be to rise from this pandemic and all the adversities that it has placed in your path confident about who you are, where you are going and what you are capable of.
So yeah, prepare for your resurrection, by remaining encouraged and eager to slay life!
Oh and speaking of slaying, check out what I would have wore if we weren’t quarantined. You know I live for a good suit and this is definitely a suit that serves power, style, and a little sexiness.
