I don’t know if I have told you but I am a huge hip-hop head, the culture has had a great impact on my life. No kidding, hip-hop and R&B lyrics have been my life’s soundtrack and even now as a grown woman, I still lace my content with some of my favorite lyrics. One of my favorite new hip-hop artist is Dababy. As I prepared this all denim look, I thought of the phrase he has become known for, “Going baby.” So yeah, today I am going denim on denim.
When asked about the meaning of the term, “going baby” by Rolling Stone, rapper Dababy stated that “going baby” is simply, “Anything that you do [to] the best it could be done.” Considering the fact that denim has been a fashion staple since the first pair of jeans were created, there is no denying, denim has been “going baby” for over 146 years. Whether it is jeans, a skirt, a jacket or a shirt, nearly everyone no matter their age owns something denim because like hip-hop, it is timeless and always on-trend. Despite your style, there is always a way to incorporate denim into your wardrobe.
Like many plus-size women, finding the right jeans has proven to be a daunting task and while I have recently found several brands that I like, I love Old Navy’s denim. I shared with you in another post that I was introduced to Old Navy’s “RockStar” jeans by my girl, Shaina Harrison of @OutOfTheCorner. The “RockStar” jeans addressed all of my concerns regarding jeans. The rise is spot on, the stretch is accommodating, and the length is damn near perfect. I am currently rocking a size 18 comfortably and could probably size down if I wasn’t a wuss because again, the stretch is amazing.
Oh but wait, it isn’t just the jeans; Old Navy has great denim, PERIOD! Thanks to Old Navy’s array of denim options and affordable prices, I am”Going baby” in this denim on denim look!
