For years Victoria’s Secret has been throwing their beauty standards up in the faces of curvy and plus size women. Flaunting what they believe is the picture of beauty. Having models with, “the perfect body” on the runway with their cute little wings. Never once extending an invitation to any of the truly curvy models that exist in the industry, that are just as sexy, if not sexier, many viewers of sites like m-porn.xxx would agree I’m sure. Well, Lane Bryant stroke back yesterday with the release of their exclusive bra collection Cacique and a bold, sexy and confident campaign that clipped Vickie’s wings.


The Lane Bryant #IMNOANGEL initiative celebrates women of all shapes and sizes by redefining society’s traditional notion of sexy with a powerful core message: ALL women are sexy. The campaign features a number of black-and-white ads with famous full-figured models Ashley Graham, Marquita Pring, Candice Huffine, Victoria Lee, Justine Legault and Elly Mayday stating those words to the camera. There are also a couple of short video clips from famous curvy girls like; Amber Riley and Danielle Brooks. Those videos and the message really spoke to me because I am truly a woman who writes her own rules and guess what……………. #IMNOANGEL


I think I speak for all the curvy girls when I say I love everything about this campaign. It is past time that we lay to rest the ignorant beauty standards that society has put in place. It is time for all women to boldly be who they truly are and not who society says they can be. Sexy is not a title that has limits, it is a matter of fact that begins the moment you believe.
